Bonfire 2011 Schedule

Stack Site will be open to the public to visit, walk around Stack, talk with participants and leadership, and generally enjoy a little Good Bull. Hours are as follows:

  • Tuesday: 3pm-Midnight
  • Wednesday: 3pm-Midnight
  • Thursday: 10am-4pm
  • Friday: 10am-4pm

Admission is $5 per vehicle, carpooling is welcomed and encouraged. These fees help offset the costs of this year's Bonfire, provide a start on next year's and benefit the Student Bonfire endowed scholarship.

Bonfire 2011 Burn Update

Robertson County is still under a burn ban. Recent rains were not nearly enough to bring the county's indeces to acceptable levels.

For Bonfire 2011, we will, as previously planned, be opening Stack Site to visitors during the week of the t.u. game. Everyone is welcome to visit, walk around Stack, talk with participants and leadership, and generally enjoy a little Good Bull. We are finalizing times and will update this evening. There will be a $5 parking fee, carpooling is strongly encouraged.

This is a very significant drought effecting many, many people, not just Student Bonfire.

It is important that everyone understand that under no circumstances will Student Bonfire act against a burn ban. For the safety of our surrounding community and the future of the Bonfire Tradition, we must and will exercise discipline and demonstrate sound leadership, just two of the things the Bonfire experience provides in abundance every year to generations of Aggies.

Bonfire 2011 Burn Contingencies [11.03.11]

Currently, Robertson County and surrounding counties are still under a burn ban due to record drought conditions in the area. The safety of participants, spectators and our friends and neighbors are our highest priority. Additionally, we have a responsibility to carry on and share this Tradition for the benefit of the Aggie family, and we are committed to sharing this experience with all comers in a safe and responsible manner while protecting the future of our organization. Taking into consideration all concerns, we are prepared for the following scenarios for Bonfire 2011 in the lead-up to what may be our last occasion to Beat the Hell Outta t.u.

  1. If the burn ban is lifted, we will burn as scheduled on Tuesday, November 22 at dark-thirty. All necessary permits, services, and materials will be in place. Additionally, we will implement a new parking and admission plan where admission will be charged only on a per-car basis, with parking passes being cheaper earlier in the day. This will work to encourage carpooling and early arrival, two things essential to welcoming as many Aggies as possible.
  2. If the burn ban is still in effect, we will open Stack Site to visitors from Monday, November 21 through Friday, November 25. Admission will be $5 per car (free for participants) to help offset some of this season's costs. Visitors will be welcome to have a look around, take pictures, talk with leaders and participants, and generally enjoy a little Good Bull before we send t.u. off with one last whoopin'.

The final determination will be made and announced Friday, November 18.
